The day begins when we travel to southern Florida, taking a rest stop in the Florida Everglades. Zip around on an airboat, the world renowned form of transport, as you look out for the wild alligators sunning around you. Take a picture with an alligator at the handling show before we leave the alligator farm.
Then we head south into the Keys, over the floating highway and across 7 mile bridge. The scenery is absolutely spectacular with the Gulf of Mexico to your right and the Caribbean Sea to your left as turquoise blue waters surround you.
After checking in at your Key West hotel, we will spend the evening on Mallory Square. Why not watch the sunset celebration or take in an optional sunset cruise? The evening is when Key West comes alive. Spend time in one of the classic tropical bars the island is famous for or simply stroll the quaint streets and gift shops of this charming Caribbean town. The choice is yours!
The following morning, after breakfast, we depart the hotel heading slightly north up the keys to the Dolphin Research Center. Here you will enter the exciting world of the dolphins, participating in a playful, structured, interactive program. During a workshop, the trainer will explain what to expect and also show you basic hand signals so that "you" can ask the dolphins to perform a variety of interactive behaviors during your session. The Deep Water Dolphin Encounter includes the exhilarating dorsal pull as you fly through the water.
Not a swimmer, or uncomfortable in deep water? Choose the Shallow Water Dolphin Encounter for a great time interacting with the dolphins on a submerged platform. To participate in the Deep Water program, guests must be at least 5 years old, and children ages 5 through 7 must be accompanied in the water by a paid adult participant. Guests must also be able to speak and understand English.
The Shallow Water Encounter is open to all ages with no language requirement. A participating adult must accompany children younger than 8. Children ages 4 and younger must be held on the parent’s hip while in the water. A chance to purchase some photos of your swim will be available. This is the chance of a lifetime to swim with the dolphins in this not for profit, non commercial environment!
Following your dolphin encounter, we will continue north up the keys to feel the Latin beat of the city of Miami. You’re free to enjoy dinner, see the homes of the stars, or take a little time for shopping in this city famous for its art, fashion and style - the Miami Vice lifestyle! As the sun sets we leave Miami, venturing north back to Orlando after enjoying 2 full days of fun and excitement with something for everyone to enjoy!
